a thankfulness recap.

So Hi, my name is Rachel King.. and this is my abandoned blog that is slowly trying to make a come back. Welcome :)

Just felt like I have been gone SO long that I should reintroduce myself. After all, there have only been about a million changes since the last time I've posted. I've decided instead of boring you with a 11 paragraph post that includes all the nitty gritty details, I should just some up life in a list and then move on.

so here we go. the things that i'm thankful for in this new life.

1. he has to go first.. and since he reads this, he would probably be offended if he wasn't. the person that i am most thankful for is my loving husband seth. people always told me that marriage is work.. but boy did i NOT believe them. being with him makes all the work worth it. all the picking up stuff, leaving the toilet seat up, and kitchen "incidents" just make me look back and smile. i'm sure that the universe is sometimes shaken up when our colossal hard heads smack, but we make it work. and it's been wonderful. truly wonderful!

2. oh this adorable puppy, who is currently laying on my right arm making it very hard to type.. what joy she has brought seth and i, and so many others! we simply could not have found a better dog.. really. the last couple months she's been going through obedience school which has been great for her, all the while being absolutely hilarious for us to watch her and teach her. she's turned into a grown dog, had to wear little boys underwear, treed many squirrels and guineas, been a cuddle bug and a warm blanket, and no matter how our day has been.. she's always so excited to welcome us home. we simply love her more than we ever thought we would.

3. i've been accepted to campbell university for this upcoming semester. it's a private, baptist affiliated university located in buies creek, nc. i go to register on the 11th and the start classed on the 12th. and i can't wait! seth and i have been through a season of change lately, and campbell has been one of those things that was going to happen, then wasn't, then was, then wasn't. so i'm thankful that the Lord has shown us the correct path, and i can't wait to start it! i'll be able to finish my degree by the time seth is done with the military. perfect. thank you Lord!

4. we were able to spend lots of time in tennessee lately. we were home for thanksgiving and christmas. i think it was the least "christmasy" time i remember having, but the fellowship and memories were better than ever. i think back on our monopoly games, sledding, lots of eating!, sams trips, and movie watching and i just smile over and over again. we are so blessed with two sides of very strong families who love us very much.

5. i am so very thankful that we have friends here in fayetteville. there's just a few of us, but it sure does help on the weekends that can sometimes seem long. i'm thankful for one lady in particular who has turned out to be a very close friend. we're able to talk about EVERYTHING. and it's so easy and nice to have a sounding board that knows what it's like to be newly married and dealing with the some what interesting life of an army family. :) anyways, she's great. and it's great to have friends here.

i wish that i could catch you up on all the hilarious moments seth and i have as we've learned how to live together, cook together, and be a together couple instead of a distance couple. but i can't! because there's too much!

life is wonderful.

i'll come back more often.. i promise!!

i do have new adventures to tell you about. going back to the title of this blog. my first time skiing definitely can fit with the title of this. you'll see tomorrow!
